My Name
My name is Megumi Kotani. It is written as "小谷めぐみ" (Ko-tani Me-gu-mi) in Japanese. Kotani translates to small valley, and Megumi means the blessing of god. When I was little, I would sleep during the sermons at church, but hearing my name from the bible and prayers would wake me up with a jolt. My parents did not assign my name to any kanji, it is written in hiragana, a syllable-based basic character system, so any one will be able to read it without difficulty. I also have a flower to go with my name, margaret. I recently found out that margaret means pearl in latin. Its a nice name, I think.
